A Saturday With Ben O’Kane + Lawson Hull

On a Saturday afternoon on January 14th at Shady Palms in Avoca Beach, Long Jetty local Lawson Hull and Ben O'Kane (Wagga Wagga) graced the stage for an afternoon of originals and covers. Everybody had a couple of beers, a few tequila slushies and the pizza's hitting the tables.

Ben O'Kane, having never performed on the Central Coast was surrounded by friends and family as he performed "Ain't It Funny How" and "Place I've Never Been" before heading into a slowed pop punk version of “Hey Ya” by Outkast, with crowd participation.

Around 4:30pm, the drinks and the pizza had settled, and Lawson Hull gracefully started by performing Fluke (off Hangin' Out With Cowboys EP) without letting anybody know he was starting to take the edge off, performing with his new electric guitar and performing some chorus driven, reverby guitar parts over the remaining punters having afternoon drinks.

Even the water dragons were listening in from the stage, awaiting somebody to throw them the last of their pizza crust. All in all, both artists performed for 45 minutes each, and both have upcoming releases in the coming weeks!
