We caught up with “TIALI” ahead of SPOOKY this Friday in Long Jetty, NSW

In the ever-evolving realm of music, there are artists who manage to transcend genres, creating a soundscape that defies categorization. Tiali, a rising star on the music scene, emerges as a figure who embodies the surreal, the dreamlike, and the addictive, akin to a David Lynch heroine. Her music, characterized by a dangerous undercurrent that irresistibly pulls you in, offers a refreshing escape from the ordinary.

Tiali's signature sound is anchored by her soulful, husky vocals. Her voice is a bewitching instrument, evoking the raw emotion of a sultry alternative rock siren. With each note she utters, she transports listeners to a world where reality blurs and emotions run deep. Her voice is an invitation into her own mysterious universe, one filled with a sense of longing, love, and personal introspection.

Tiali's artistry is more than just captivating vocal prowess; it's a reflection of her keen songwriting skills. Her lyrical compositions draw from personal experiences, weaving stories and emotions that delve into her views on society, culture, and the myriad issues that she perceives within it. It's a cathartic process for both her and her audience, creating an emotional connection that resonates deeply.

Her music is a genre-defying brew. Grungy guitars are juxtaposed with blues, jazz, and punk influences. Slivers of shadowy psychedelia lurk beneath the surface, and a pinch of inspiration from artists like Mazzy Star and PJ Harvey adds to the eclectic mix. Tiali's sonic identity refuses to be pigeonholed. It's a compelling fusion that defies conventions and challenges the boundaries of what's possible in music.

Tiali's persona is a captivating paradox. She is the pixie dream girl turned witchy woman, who has come to steal your heart with her enigmatic charm. Her music is alluring, luring you into a dreamlike reverie, yet beneath the surface, it harbors an undeniable power. It's the kind of music that stays with you, haunting your thoughts long after the last note has faded away.

In an age where authenticity and originality are celebrated, Tiali stands as a testament to both. She's not merely a musician but a storyteller, weaving tales through her music that are as enigmatic as they are relatable. With each new release, Tiali adds a new layer to her musical tapestry, inviting listeners on a journey through her own dreamscape. Her work resonates not just with fans of alternative rock but with anyone who appreciates the raw, the surreal, and the profoundly emotive.

Tiali is an artist who doesn't just create music; she creates an experience. It's an experience that transcends boundaries, defies expectations, and leaves you yearning for more. In a world where conformity often reigns supreme, Tiali is a breath of fresh, dreamlike air that sweeps you away into her enchanting and surreal world. So, surrender to the siren call of Tiali and let her bewitching music become the soundtrack to your own dreams and desires

We Caught up with Tiali ahead of her performance at SPOOKY this Friday at The Savoy, in Long Jetty where she will perform alongside STUPID BABY, RUBY ARCHER, FINDING BETTER HEALTH, AND HAND MODELS

Hey Tiali, How are you today?

I’m great! I’m actually just about to leave for a little weekend away in nature so I’m feeling pretty excited and grateful.

Are you excited to perform at SPOOKY next Friday?

Oh yes, I absolutely love a themed show. Plus the lineup is epic and Savoy is literally around the corner from my house, so it’s a recipe for a good time.

What can we expect from the live performance?

The live vibe is definitely a bit eclectic, it’s rocky, a bit emotional, and consisting of a few funky jams. We’ll definitely be playing tracks from The Pleasure Pit (my new EP), they’re always a little different with each performance depending on the vibe we’re flowing with. A few unreleased tracks too. Who knows.

Do you perform solo or with a band?

Mostly with my band, but I still play the odd solo gig. I enjoy both equally though depending on the setting, it’s kind of a different channeling of energy for each. Band is more fun and energetic, solo is more heartfelt and introspective.

What has been your most memorable performance to date?

It’s funny, I’d probably have to say the Halloween Show I played at The Rhythm Hut a couple of years back. All the audience dressed up, there was face paint getting around everywhere, and it was just such a fun time. Keen for another night like that!

Any other shows coming up?

Yep!

25 Nov - Drifters Wharf (Sunsoli Album Launch)

8 Dec - Sunset Sessions (Woy Woy Lions Park)

10 Dec - Let The Good Times Roll Festival

Do you have any releases planned for the remainder of 2023?

Unfortunately not but I’m in the process of writing another EP and really enjoying playing around with some new sounds.

What are your go to records to listen to?

Ooo there’s so many. Jaala - Hard Hold, Massive Attack - Blue Lines, Hiatus Kaiyote - Choose Your Weapon, Hinkstep - My Forest Queen

Who are 5 artists from your local community that we should listen to?

Other than legends on the SPOOKY lineup, Jan., Ashrae, Lucille Two, Turtle Custard, Shacked!
